Ingredients

1 large, firm-ripe mango, peeled and diced

3 Zespri Green Kiwis (or SunGold Kiwis), peeled and diced

1 medium avocado, diced

½ cup red onion, finely diced

1 large jalapeño

¼ cup fresh cilantro, chopped

2 tbsp fresh lime juice

½ tsp Tajín (or chili-lime seasoning)

Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Char the Jalapeño (The Secret Step): For incredible depth of flavor, place the whole jalapeño directly over a gas burner or under the oven broiler for 3-4 minutes, turning until the skin is blistered and slightly blackened. Let it cool, remove the seeds, and finely mince.
  2. Mellow the Onions: In a medium bowl, combine the diced red onion and fresh lime juice. Let sit for 5 minutes (this removes the raw onion bite).
  3. Combine: Add the diced mango, kiwi, avocado, charred jalapeño, and cilantro to the bowl with the onions.
  4. Season & Toss: Sprinkle the Tajín and a pinch of salt over the top. Use a rubber spatula to gently fold the salsa together, being careful not to mash the avocado or kiwi.
  5. Serve: Serve immediately with tortilla chips, or spoon generously over grilled white fish, salmon, or chicken tacos.
