Guatemala Vlog Header - BLOG

Happy Arbor Day, mango fans! We’re back with a special trip to a mango farm in Guatemala to celebrate our favorite trees. We had the opportunity to tour through the farm, learn about the process of growing the fruit, and taste mangos straight from the tree.

Watch the latest National Mango Board vlog here for a glimpse into our visit, while learning a few fun mango facts. During our visit, we were lucky to see three varieties of mangos growing on the trees – Tommy Atkins, Keitt, and Honey mangos. You should be able to find Tommy and Honey mangos in your grocery store right now, and Keitts will be available later in the summer.

In addition to these commercially available varieties, Guatemala is home to many other locally grown mangos – many are even grown in people’s backyards! What are your favorite mango varieties and where are they grown around the world?

Check back for even more mango fun on our YouTube channel.

This pastry goodness offers a savory dance between fruit and vegetables. Melted gruyere and parmesan cheese rest in a flaky crust that is golden, buttery, and laced with thyme. Topped with thin slices of tomato and red onion, asparagus, and sprinkled with fresh diced mango. Link in bio for recipe.
