National Farmer’s Day
As a fruit that completely relies on farmers from around the world, let’s take a moment to thank them on National Farmer’s Day. What started as an American holiday in the 1800s to celebrate domestic farmers from coast to coast, we’re expanding to thank all farmers that are responsible for harvesting our super fun superfruit!
Celebrated in October, National Farmer’s Day was chosen after most American harvests are complete, allowing farmers themselves to join in the festivities. In our mango world, the farmers never stop. With availability all year long, mangos are constantly being harvested. Right now, farmers in Brazil, Ecuador and Mexico are all working hard to get those juicy mangos into our grocery stores.
From all of us here at the National Mango Board, we send out a hearty, “THANK YOU!” to the farmers who harvest our favorite fruit on this National Farmer’s Day. Where would be without you all? Enjoy this tribute to mango culture and watch mangos being picked right from the trees!
