Rising Mango Star Video Contest

OFFICIAL RULES

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.

Eligibility: The Rising Mango Star Video Contest ("Contest") conducted by the National Mango Board ("Sponsor") is open to legal residents of the 50 states and the District of Columbia, who are between 8 and 14 years of age at the time of entry. Board members, officers and employees of the National Mango Board, advertising and promotion agencies and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household are not eligible to enter or win. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply.
How to Enter: The Contest begins at 9:00 a.m. EDT on May 7, 2008 and ends at 11:59 p.m. EDT on July 7, 2008.
1. If you are 13 – 14 years old, you may enter by submitting an original video of no more than seven minutes in length via the online submission process, describing your mango-inspired recipe and how to make it.
  
  To Submit Your Video:
  - Upload your video to YouTube.
  - Once uploaded, log on to www.mango.org/risingstar and fill out the entry form and submit the Web site link to your YouTube video.
2. If you are 8-12 years old, email only your first name and your parent or guardian's email address to jango@mango.org . (Do not send your last name or any other information about yourself or you will not be allowed to enter the contest). Your parent or legal guardian will be asked to provide their consent for you to enter this contest. When we receive your parent's consent, we will send you instructions on how to enter. All entries must be received by July 7, 2008, at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Only one entry per person. All submissions become property of Sponsor.

By participating, entrants, by their parents or legal guardians, agree to assign all rights to and creative ownership of their video and recipe to the National Mango Board. In the event the entrant or winner is a minor in the state of his or her residence, all required documentation must be signed by his or her parent or legal guardian. No copyrighted material is allowed in any portion of the video and only original, non-copyrighted material may be included. Entrants also certify that they created the recipes themselves and have either created the video themselves or have permission from the videographer to submit the video (and have obtained a release from the videographer of all rights therein). Entrant may be asked to provide written verification of these representations. By participating in this contest, entrants further grant permission to Sponsor to post the video and recipe on www.mango.org/risingstar. Videos submitted must remain posted on YouTube for the duration of the contest period. Submitted videos and recipes will appear on Sponsor's Web site(s) at the discretion of the Sponsor. There is no fee to participate in this Contest.
Judging of Submissions and Selection of Winners: Three (3) Finalists will be selected from among all eligible entries (all entries from all entrants ages 8-14) by a panel of judges whose decisions shall be final and binding upon all aspects of the promotion. Selection of the Finalists will be based upon the following criteria: recipe concept/taste (50%), presentation style (25%) and overall personal appeal (25%). The three (3) finalists will be flown with a travel companion of their choice to New York City, N.Y., to demonstrate their recipe in front of a panel of three judges, selected by Sponsor, where the Grand Prize Winner will be chosen based on the same criteria used to select the Finalists.

The three (3) finalists will be notified by e-mail, telephone, U.S. mail and/or overnight express. The Grand Prize Winner will be notified on Aug. 8, 2008, in New York when the judges make their decision. The finalists may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity/Liability Release, and other documentation reasonably required by Sponsor. Travel companion must also sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity/Liability Release. Failure to sign and return any documents when requested may result in disqualification of entrant and selection of an alternate winner. By participating, entrants agree to abide by these Official Rules. Other than as set forth in these rules, or for general consumer inquiries pertaining to this promotion and its procedures, neither Sponsor nor anyone acting on its behalf will enter into any communications with any entrant regarding the judging of any entry in this Contest. Limit one prize per household.
Prizes
1. Grand Prize: There will be One (1) Grand Prize awarded. The Grand Prize consists solely of the opportunity for the Grand Prize Winner to appear on a television broadcast with National Mango Board spokesperson Ingrid Hoffmann; a trip for two to the final judging in New York City, N.Y., including round-trip coach air transportation for two between major airports in the United States nearest to winner's residence and New York City, N.Y.; ground transportation to and from airports; and double occupancy standard hotel accommodations for three (3) nights. In the event the closest airport to the Prize winner's home is within the New York City, N.Y.-area (i.e. within 100 miles), prize will not include air transportation from Prize winner's residence, but will include ground transportation. All meals are included and will be provided for winner and his and her travel companion. Approximate Retail Value of Grand Prize is $3500.00 USD.
2. Runners-Up Prize: There will be Two (2) Runners-Up prizes awarded. Each Runners-Up Prize consists solely of a trip for two to the final judging in New York City, N.Y., including round-trip coach air transportation for two between major airports in the United States nearest to winner's residence and New York City, N.Y.; ground transportation to and from airports; and hotel accommodations for three (3) nights. In the event the closest airport to the Prize winner's home is within the New York City, N.Y.-area (i.e. within 100 miles), prize will not include air transportation from Prize Winner's residence, but will include ground transportation. All meals are included and will be provided Winner and his or her travel companion. Approximate Retail Value of each Runners-Up Prize is $3500.00 USD.
Additional Terms and Conditions Applicable to Grand and Runners-Up Prizes: Accommodations are based on availability. Winner and travel companion must travel together on the same itinerary. Value of trip may vary depending on location of Winner's residence. Taxes and any other expenses not specified herein are Winner's sole responsibility. If the Winner is a minor, he or she must be accompanied on trip by a parent or legal guardian. None of parent's or legal guardian's expenses will be included in the Prize unless parent or legal guardian is designated as winner's travel companion. Travel arrangements must be made through Sponsor's agent on a carrier of Sponsor's choice. Trip date is at the sole discretion of Sponsor. Winner may receive less than thirty (30) days notice prior to trip departure. If for any reason the Prize Winner cannot take the trip on a date specified by the Sponsor, an alternate winner will be selected, and Sponsor shall have no further obligation to the Prize Winner. Complete terms and conditions of Prize trip will be furnished with prize notification. Certain travel restrictions and blackout dates may apply. All details of prize not specified herein shall be determined solely by Sponsor.
Contest Conditions
1. No substitutions, transfers or cash equivalent for a prize (or portion thereof) is allowed, except by Sponsor in its sole discretion due to prize (or portion thereof) unavailability and then for a prize (or applicable portion thereof) of equal or greater value.
2. Sponsor is not responsible for failure of the Internet or the Web site during the promotional period, for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network or lines, computer on-line systems, servers, access providers, computer equipment, software, failure of any email or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof including any injury or damage to an entrant's or any other person's computer related to or resulting from participation in this Contest.
3. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or suspend the Internet portion of this contest should a virus, bug or other cause beyond their reasonable control corrupt the security or proper administration of the contest. Any attempt to deliberately damage any Web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws. Should such an attempt be made, contest sponsor(s) reserve(s) the right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent permitted by law, including criminal prosecution.
4. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, stolen, misdirected, illegible, or inaccurate entries or for failures of video or sound recording or video or sound listening equipment or for incorrect or inaccurate entry information, or any other technical, human or other problems or errors that may occur in connection with this Contest.
5. Sponsor shall have the right, at its discretion, to disqualify any entries that they deem to be obscene, defamatory or otherwise unsuitable or not in good taste. By entering, each entrant warrants and represents that his or her entry is original and has not been previously published or submitted in any other competition, does not defame or otherwise violate the rights of any third party, does not contain any footage, music or other material from any third party (unless licensing rights have been secured and proof is provided to Sponsor) and does not violate any federal, state or local laws or ordinances. Modification of an existing work does not qualify as original. Entrant further warrants and represents that he or she has secured the requisite consent from all individuals appearing in any entry and will be able to provide that to Sponsor in a form acceptable to Sponsor. Entrant further warrants and represents that Sponsor and its designees use of entry submitted hereunder will not give rise to any residual or other payment obligations under any collective bargaining agreement or otherwise.
6. Each entrant agrees that Sponsor shall own the entry (and all material embodied therein including but not limited to the video submitted by Entrant) and shall have the perpetual, worldwide right and permission (unless prohibited by law) to edit, publish, exploit and use the entry (and all material embodied therein including but not limited to the video submitted by Entrant) in any way and in any media for trade, advertising, promotional and/or other purposes as Sponsor may determine without further consideration to, compensation or approval from entrant or any third party. Sponsor and its affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies shall have no liability and will be held harmless by entrant for any claim, action, liability, loss, injury or damage to entrant or any other person or entity, including personal injury or death to winner or any other person or damage to personal or real property, due in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, by reason of entrant's participation in this Contest, or the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of a prize (including any travel or related activity) or Sponsor's or its designees' use of any entry submitted in this Contest. All entries shall become the property of the Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.
7. Contestants will be deemed to have received and understood the rules by participating in the contest.
