Consumer Marketing Results Tracker

Our efforts to keep mangos on TV, on the internet, in newspapers and in magazines add up to increased awareness for mangos. We're keeping consumers thinking about mangos, so they'll be more likely to buy mangos when they do their shopping. We carefully track and measure each time mangos make an appearance in the media. This tracking helps us evaluate each part of our program, to ensure you are getting the best possible return on your investment.

The consumer marketing results tracker is updated monthly and you can click here to see the newest version. This document covers our progress so far this year and we've already reached consumers over 170 million times with mango messages! It would have cost roughly $4.9 million to purchase this space and time as advertising.

This tracker is a snapshot of the results of our consumer marketing programs. This is where the largest chunk of the industry's funds are invested, so we watch these results very carefully. The document is long and may have more detail than you want to see. If so, check out just the first 3 pages, which provide a summary of all of the results. In just a few minutes you can see an overview and return-on-investment measurements of our consumer marketing programs from these 3 pages. Please click here to see the 2008 tracker.

June is Mango Month

June traditionally sees the largest volume of mangos coming into the US from the most counties and with many different varieties. That’s why we’re promoting June as Mango Month. We’re expecting lots of great articles and recipes to be published in major newspapers and national magazines all across this country as a result of our work with the media. And, our big hit will be a television segment featuring our new spokesperson, Ingrid Hoffmann. She’s so excited about mangos that it’s just fun to watch her! In this video, Ingrid does a great job of teaching the viewers an easy way to cut a mango, and she shares ripening tips plus her Tilapia ceviche with mango recipe. The video and recipes are posted now on our web site, so check it out!

Rising Mango Star Video Contest

The NMB is looking for a young mango star between the ages of 8 and 14 to show off their best mango recipe. We’re asking kids to submit their video entries, so we can choose 3 finalists to come to New York and compete for the grand prize – a television appearance with our own Ingrid Hoffmann. The Rising Mango Star Video Contest pages on our web site are so colorful and fun, and we’re already getting tons of coverage as writers and bloggers across the country promote the site to their own readers.

mango.org Makes a Big Splash in Spanish!

We have always had certain sections of our www.mango.org web site available in Spanish, including the recipe section and our industry section. This spring, the NMB launched a new home page, presented entirely in Spanish. With all copy and navigation options presented in Spanish, the site is meant to welcome our Spanish-speaking visitors with open arms and help them find whatever they want to learn about mangos. Please check out the site at www.mango.org/es.aspx and let us know what you think. You can also get there by going to our English home page at www.mango.org and clicking on the “En Español” button at the top of the page.
