Objectives:

  • Determine the influence of cultivar, harvest maturity and ripeness stage at the time of cutting on sensory perception and instrumental measures of mango texture
  • Investigate textural changes in fresh-cut mangos during refrigerated storage after cutting, using sensory and instrumental methods
  • Investigate the effects of gaseous 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP; SmartFreshTM)and/or calcium dips and/or modified atmosphere packaging on textural changes in fresh-cut mangos using sensory and instrumental methods
