Vincent man Gogh

Born on March 30, 1853, this Friday marks the birthday of artist Vincent van Gogh. Reflecting on his famous, vibrantly-colored pieces, such as Starry Night and Café Terrace, it is obvious that bursts of color are the driving force behind van Gogh’s artistic genius.  What better way to celebrate van Gogh’s artistic impressions than by adding vibrant color to your life?  Start with the brightly-hued and wholesome Mango Coconut Smoothie (http://mango.org/recipe/mango-coconut-smoothie).

Made in only 15 minutes, this recipe creates the best treat for your taste buds, as it features vanilla yogurt, green tea and, of course, mango! For an extra delight, try freezing the mango puree in ice cube trays and adding to the smoothie in place of ice for extra flavor.

Another sumptuous meal with vibrant colors is the Thai Steak and Mango Salad (http://mango.org/recipe/thai-steak-and-mango-salad). Combining lime juice, brown sugar and sirloin steak, this entrée is made in less than 20 minutes and almost as enjoyable to create as it is to eat. Show off your artistic instincts by including your choice of spices and presentation to this satisfying salad.

Continue the celebration of Vincent van Gogh’s life by infusing boldly-colored mangos into your daily menu and finding many more recipes on our website (www.mango.org/recipes).
