"I approach cooking the same way I approach life. I want it to be simple, wonderful, and a fabulous experience. I love cooking with fresh mangos and use them in as many of my recipes as I can. Mangos have such fun, tropical flavors, making my food a joy to prepare and to eat."
- Ingrid Hoffmann

Ingrid_Hoffmann.jpg Ingrid Hoffmann loves mangos, so it’s only natural that she would team up with the National Mango Board. On her hit Food Network show, Simply Delicioso, Ingrid is known to incorporate Latin ingredients – particularly mangos – to make fresh, delicious dishes.

Her new cookbook, Simply Delicioso: A Collection of Everyday Recipes with a Latin Twist (February 2008, Clarkson Potter/Random House), was recently released and is full of delicious spicy, festive recipes that often include mangos. You’ll also find Ingrid on her Spanish-language cooking and lifestyle show, Delicioso, which airs on Galavision.

Born and raised in Colombia, Ingrid grew up in her mother’s kitchen, who is a Cordon Bleu trained chef. She eventually moved to Miami where she opened La Capricieuse, a high fashion luxury boutique in Coconut Grove. Looking to satiate her passion for food, Ingrid parlayed her love of cooking and entertaining into her restaurant, Rocca, the first to feature tabletop cooking on heated lava rocks. It became an instant Miami favorite.

While both businesses thrived, she had the opportunity to host a cooking segment on a local Miami-area TV show. Executives at Univision were so impressed that they offered her a bi-weekly cooking and style segment on Despierta America, the most popular morning show in the US Hispanic market. In September 2005, Delicioso with Ingrid Hoffmann launched in the US on DirecTV and went on to network television in 2006 for its second season. Simply Delicioso premiered on Food Network in July 2007.

Besides filming her shows, Ingrid enjoys living in Miami and enjoying the fruits of her labor - especially mangos!
