    As mangos become more popular in the fruit baskets of American households, providing a consistent high-quality product is one of the best ways to inspire consumers to eat mangos more often. As with many things in life, this is easier said than done. However, one method that other fruit industries are using to achieve consistency is through ripening programs. And so, the idea of hosting a mango ripening conference this spring came at the request of the industry itself, and is based on current consumer trends that we are seeing at the retail level.

Our Foodservice PR & Marketing program continues its outreach efforts to encourage use of fresh mangos in foodservice. This program works with operators, chefs, and foodservice media to increase presence and sell-through of fresh mangos at foodservice. This year, we will continue to work with foodservice media to share news about fresh mangos and secure editorial placements.

    Nutrition Marketing Keeps Gaining Momentum in 2014

    Throughout the year we work with media dietitian ambassadors and conduct media outreach to support nutrition research studies to deliver coverage of our nutrition messages and information in magazines, online, and broadcast outlets to the U.S. consumer. According to our Q1 and Q2 Nutrition Outreach Program results tracker, we have reached over 300 million impressions with coverage in popular nutrition media. Currently, Q1 and Q2 results combined account for over 60% of our 2014 goals.
